CLINIQUE AAD COCKTAIL PARTY
Experiential Conception, Development, Design, ExecutionParty celebrating the launch of Clinique’s new UV Solutions line at AAD 2026
THE UMBRELLA was engaged by Clinique to produce a cocktail party for the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting 2026 in Denver.
We partnered with the newly constructed architectural achievement the Populous Hotel, to host the reception for Clinique executives, dermatologists, brand ambassadors, and industry leaders.
We transformed the public spaces on the Populous hotel’s second floor into a multi-room exhibition of Clinique’s storied history in Skincare. Complete with their full range of Dermatologist Approved products, the brand-new UV Solutions® Line, and a gifting station so guests could take some of Clinique’s best-selling products home with them.
Guests entered through a wheat pasted facade, through a custom aluminum M•A•C x SEPHORA billboard step & repeat, and made their way down the converging roads into the the main spaces. Custom fabricated billboards provided both ambiance and photo ops as they explored the space.
The newly constructed Populous hotel is the latest and most architecturally elegant addition to Denver’s skyline. Designed by esteemed architectural firm Studio Gang and only completed in 2024, the Populous has a stunning structure that was a perfect compliment to Clinique’s minimalist and scientific aesthetic.
The Step & Repeat
A larger than life Step & Repeat in Clinque’s UV Solutions’ yellow was fabricated in-situ at the Populous Hotel spanning the entire wall. A factice of the product was provided as a photo-moment prop.

The Product Gallery
We fabricated five museum grade display pedestals in addition to taking over the Populous Hotel’s integrated library to showcase all of Cliniques product categories.
The UV Solutions VM
We designed, prototyped and fabricated a brand new Visual Merchandising unit for the new UV Solutions line.
The Heritage Gallery
We worked with our partners at Clinique to document the origin story of the iconic beauty brand. We worked with them to display some timeless heirlooms from their collection: two original Clinique “skincare type” computers, and the original edition of the August 1967 Vogue Magazine, headline: ‘Can Great Skin Be Created?’ which immortalized their brand.
The Gift
Guests previewed their gift bags in another gallery of the exhibition. We hung Clinique lab coats in series to pay homage to their dermatological legacy. We also made available to guests the latest peer-reviewed journals featuring Clinique technologies.
The Mixer
In the cocktail space, toasts were given and delicious beverages, passed canapes and locally sourced cuisine was served. We worked with local florists to provide Clinique’s signature calla lily arrangements throughout the space. Lab glass accented the gallery space for a science-chic vibe.
