Experiential Conception, Development, Design, ExecutionInfluencer launch party celebrating the relaunch of M•A•C Lustreglass in Los Angeles.
THE UMBRELLA was engaged by M•A•C Cosmetics to concept, develop, & produce the Los Angeles launch of the expanded Lustreglass lip franchise, an influencer party for over 300 creators, artists, press, & M•A•C leadership.
The brief was: transform M•A•C’s House of Glass campaign into a physical “House of Glass” in the real world.
Working with esteemed production designer, Sayoko Osada, we transformed an exclusive Hollywood members club into a series of glass, mirror, & brushed steel environments lit in icy teal: a mirrored entry & hallway, a greenhouse forest of mirror columns, a chrome DJ booth & bar, & a glass room at the center of the party.
Guests moved from the mirrored entry to the glass room, were matched to their Lustreglass shade by M•A•C artists along the way, & stayed to dance to DJ sets from Quinn Blake & Between Friends.
The Mirror Forest
In the venue’s greenhouse we installed the Mirror Forest, five 8ft mirror columns set among the ferns & palms, multiplying the greenery, the light, & the guests moving between them. Two makeup stations staffed by M•A•C artists sat within the forest, where guests were matched to their Lustreglass shade & had it applied throughout the night. The forest became one of the most photographed rooms of the night.
The Mirror Room
At the center of the listening room we built the Mirror Room, a glass & two-way mirror structure furnished with a single white chaise longue & lit from within. It was the hero of the night: guests waited their turn to be photographed inside it, & it became the most shared moment of the party.
